Graci Wine Tasting with Alberto Aiello Graci
Winemaker Alberto Aiello Graci visited Vintage 38 to taste through his wines in February 2017. We were very lucky to have the opportunity to hear from the winemaker himself about his vineyards, winemaking philosophy and the Etna terroir. In an interview with the New York Times, Mr. Graci calls Etna “an electrical place, an emotional place, a place to make elegant, classical wines.” Etna DOC is named after the biggest active volcano in Europe and the complex soils allow winemakers to craft elegant yet rustic wines. We poured the Graci wine portfolio that night --- now available at Uma Wine Merchant for you to revisit your favorites!
Graci Philosophy:
"We only cultivate traditional varieties indigenous to Mount Etna and aim to respect local traditions as well as the distinct characters of each vintage.
The land decides, not us. We believe that only by listening carefully and responding to the expressions of Nature in our territory ca be great wines be born. Great because true."
