Pinot Gris with Skin-Contact Big Salt (Riesling, Gewurztraminer)

"Big Salt "Orange Rosé" is a dry wine that captures the feeling of a sunset on a beach - vibrant colors mixing with the perfume of the salty air. The wine is blended from white varieties that are fermented on their skins, which impart colors and flavors that range from hibiscus to tangerine. The combination of orange and rosé wine adds diversity of aromatics and texture, while creating a flavor profile that tastes similar to how the wine looks. Salud!"

Husband and wife Ksenija and John House founded Ovum in 2011. They focus on fruit first, finding farmers that share their vision of letting the vineyard and vintage take center stage in the bottle, not the vintner.  This is to say they utilize low-intervention wine making, neutral barrels / cement egg and fruit from vineyards that impart a sense of place.
