André Neveu, 7th generation owner and winemaker of the eponymous domaine in the tiny village of Chavignol, has been making wine for over 45 years. The village is known mostly for its famous ‘Crottin de Chavignol,’ a small round of aged goat cheese which (unsurprisingly) pairs extremely well with Sancerre.  His son-in-law, Thomas Dezat has recently taken over winemaking of this 30-acre estate, producing some of the best Sancerres available. "Le Grand Fricambault" is produced entirely from grapes grown on a hillside terroir of Silex. It is dry, fruity and a beautiful expression of the land. 100% Sauvignon Blanc.  Chavignol, Sancerre, France.
