From Sicily, in the south of Italy we might expect a big, fruity, ripe wine.  Instead, this is more angular, coastal and mineral driven... of course balanced with healthy fruit and also a touch of almond.  The nose has a ton of mineral elements, making this white delightfully intriguing.  The family, who has been making wines in Sicily for over 160 years, characterizes this wine as "friendly, food-driven, crisp and versatile".  Lucido (Catarratto) blended with other native Sicilian grapes.  91 points James Suckling.  Sicilia DOC, Italy
