Pear & summer lemonade on a dry, crisp palate of lemony citrus, green apple, saline & frosted minerals with a firm personality. The DOCG of Vernaccia di San Gimignano is in the Siena province of Tuscany, where Chianti Coli Senesi is made. Vernaccia di San Gimignano is interestingly considered to not be related any other Vernaccia and has been cultivated in the area since likely 1276, and (much!) later awarded DOCG status in 1993. The Gianelli family have  cultivated vineyards, olive groves and livestock in San Benedetto since 1826; in the 1960s the family first started buying land. Run by the same family today, Giovanni, Andrea and Marco.
