Blackberry, sweet lilac, touches of cedar, tobacco leaves. Soft and floral with layers of violets, rocky minerality and dark berries. 90% Merlot with 10% Malbec. Chateau Carbonneau was constructed in 1860, producing wine until the First World War when the estate was sold and vineyards pulled out during the subsequent economic crisis. It was not until the Franc de Ferriere family took over the Château in 1992 did the process of restoration begin. Wilfred and Jacquie painstakingly renovated the property and vines, today along with their children they own and run the beautiful Chateau. Certified organic and biodynamic.
